Beside Suzhou Creek

This is a great photo of an area of Shanghai not far from my home. In fact I go right by this area going to and from every day. Being in black and white gives it even more “atmosphere”.

So many pictures of Shanghai, including most of my own, are of the new modern parts or the pretty historical parts. This is more like “real” Shanghai and should remind everyone that China, even Shanghai, is still undergoing a lot of development and many local residents have yet to benefit fully from the great economic boom.

I gave my mother a digital camera about a year and a half ago. I set up a Flickr account for her back in October of last year. She finally got around to uploading some pics today. This one is of her two cats.

Congratulations mother!!
